Traditional Chinese Vegetable Recipe

Enjoy donot forget to eat vegetables in Ramadan...

It is simple but tasty and nutritious. Enjoy it!


    Ingredients (6 servings):

    • 1 small red pepper, sliced
    • 1 small green pepper sliced
    • 1 small yellow pepper sliced
    • 1 red onion, sliced
    • 3 carrots, cut into matchsticks
    • 100 g small florets of broccoli
    • 100 g celery, sliced
    • 200 g green beans, diagonally sliced
    • 2 tbsp chopped ginger
    • ½ cup sliced Chinese mushrooms
    • 5 tbsp vegetable oil
    • salt and pepper
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
    • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
    • 3 tablespoons vegetable stock
    • 2 tablespoons glutinous rice flour
    • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
    • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
    • 1/2 cup chopped green onions and 1/4 cup of Cilantro for garnish

    Method:

    1. Stir together soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, vegetable stock, flour, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.
    2. In a heated frying pan add oil and when the oil is hot add garlic and ginger and then add the mushrooms. Stir fry for 1 minute.
    3. When mushrooms start to become tender add all the vegetables. Stir fry until vegetables start to become tender, about 2 minutes.
    4. Pour sauce into vegetables, and mix well. Stir fry for about 2 minute, or until the sauce thickens.
    5. Remove pan from heat, and serve stir fry over rice or noodles.
    6. Garnish with green onions and cilantro.
